Joyce Ann Benson passed away on January 28, 2021 at Trail Lake Rehab and Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11am, at Samaria Baptist Church located at 4000 E. Berry St. in Forth Worth. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. Joyce was born August 15, 1940 in Fort Worth Texas to Alma Harris and Leroy Upkins.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Charles Benson Jr. and John Benson Sr.
Joyce attended James E. Guinn School and I. M. Terrell High School. She worked for Tandy‘s Corp, and was a caregiver for Williamson Dickie’s mother. She later married the late Charles Benson Sr. they had five children. Her favorite past time was going to Dave and Buster’s, playing Pokeno and listening to songs . She was a Faithful member of the Samaria Baptist Church in Fort Worth Texas until her health started failing her.
Left to cherish her precious memories are daughter Denise (Leroy) Moore, Teresa (Oscar) Robinson, Son Edward Benson, stepson David Phillips, brother Michael Johnson, sisters: Clarice Coy, Marvinette Plummer, Grandchildren: Michael Malone Jr., Darrell Malone, Tommy Carr Jr., Ashley Benson, John Benson Jr (Kaniya)., Aaron Benson, Chelsea Smith, Nicholas Robinson, Sherlynn( Barry) Stricklin, Nikki (David) Moore-watts, Ebony Morris and Kamora Moore.
Great grandchildren Michael Malone III., Aiden, Aubrey Malone, DaLa’yon , Dana’ja Mitchell, Paris Smith, Torrie, Troy Cavitt, Maliki, MaKayla Benson, Trae, Alaunikka Woods, Jahbril Edwards, and a host of extended family and many friends.
